Wow

Just logged into this account after a long time and so happy to see people are still enjoying it :)

Hello new followers, hello old followers. I miss this blog and my adventures in Korea but it’s nice to know people can still enjoy my memories <3

What the F*** Kpop!

chains-and-daffodils:

I’m a little late with this whole EXO business, I’m not a fan so why read about them? But what I do find distressing is how these crazy fans are reacting.

Let’s get something straight here. He is a MAN. Not a hero. He SINGS and DANCES… WOW. What has he really done to improve this world? Think…

Anonymous said: How did you get a language exchange partner while you were in Korea? i'm really wanting to learn Korean while I'm here, and I know you have experience with it. Any advice? Any websites/ irl classes you can recommend? Thanks!

She actually approached me in the street when I was with a group of coworkers. We exchanged emails (I’d only just arrived so no phone) but I didn’t get in contact with her for a while. Finally we met and at first I was just going to practice speaking and reading comprehension with her but then she suggested we do language exchange. But, what I do know is there are group language exchanges you can go to. A simple google search will provide you with groups I’m sure. Be warned, some guys see language exchange as code for ‘dating’ (if you’re a girl anon) but I’ve heard some people have had success with these. In terms of websites the Talk To Me in Korean podcasts and accompanying pdfs are good. Youtube is probably my favourite resource as well as a good book. Once you start meeting people though don’t be shy in asking them if they would mind helping you learn. Most Koreans I’ve met have been more than happy for me to ask them questions and that. Don’t forget they will also see you as a walking dictionary! Also check out apps. I have the Learn Korean Phrasebook from codeagent that is good for counting and that. Good luck, I hope you find something and sorry for the delayed reply. I may not blog on this account anymore but I’m still willing to answer any questions ^^

Yes! I’ve heard a lot about this drama. It isn’t as easy to watch them now I’m back in England as I get caught up in English TV but I’ve put it on my favourites list^^

Let’s Educate The World About Fibromyalgia, One Person At A Time!

I may not have it that bad but it still sucks the energy out of me. I can’t imagine the pain of an acute sufferer. Most people don’t know what fibromyalgia is and I don’t blame them as neither did I before I did research into my pains. But this is wrong because if they haven’t heard of it before they dismiss it as not being important. What causes it? I do not know. What can make it better? I do not know. I hope soon more research is done into finding out more about fibromyalgia so people can stop the pain. I hate being 23 but feeling like 60. My handbag hurts after an hour even if there’s hardly anything in it. My knees hurt even if I’ve been asleep for 6 hours. I have a constant pain in all my muscles that makes me feel like I’ve just ran a marathon. It almost burns. And like I say I have it pretty weak compared to others. Let’s hope some more awareness can be raised on May 12th so the invisible becomes visible.

Forgotten drama but it’s really good!

chains-and-daffodils:

I knew I’d forget a really good drama off my list!

I Hear Your Voice is also very good and one of my top recommendations.

Georgina Barclay is fundraising on JustGiving for Cancer Research UK

chains-and-daffodils:

Hello Tumblr people. I am doing the Race for Life for the charity Cancer Research UK. I am trying to raise money to help fund important research and trials so we can help those with cancer. I’m sure you’ve all been affected by cancer in some way. For me, my Grandad died of lung cancer. Even though I was young I remember how horrible it was to watch him suffer. If we continue to invest we can help improve their quality of life and who knows, one day there may even be a cure. I’m doing the Race for Life with my mum and sister. If you would like to donate, even if it is £1 then please click on the link and follow the instructions. Thank you ^^

Can anyone help me out in raising money for Cancer Research UK?

Anonymous said: What k-dramas would you recommend watching? I don't know where to start!

Okay so there’s many I’ve watched but the best ones were…
Man From The Stars
Reply 1994
Reply 1997 (watch this one first)
City Hunter
Boys Over Flowers
Coffee Prince
Secret Garden

And good ones are…
Big
Lie to Me
Marry Me Mary (Mary Stayed Up All Night)
Beautiful Man (pretty boy/bel ami)
You’re Beautiful

There will be more that I think of as soon as I post this! And I’m sure some others can comment on their favourites too. I’m currently watching Threw Days which is good and not like other dramas. I’m struggling a bit but don’t think it’s the drama’s fault but more my mood. And I’ve seen two episodes of Emergency Couple which seems promising.

Where London Fails

chains-and-daffodils:

I am British and I am very proud of London as my capital city. I think it is extremely beautiful and has a lot to offer both residents and tourists.

But since living in Korea and spending my free time in the streets of Seoul, I can’t help but think London is rather lacking in some areas.

I…

My latest post on the new blog comparing the cafe culture in Seoul and London.

Watch Out Seoul

Avengers will be filming in Korea within the next few days!
